The Reclaiming Stories project is a collaboration among members of the Peoria and Miami Tribes, along with associated scholars, working on history and practice of hide painting. The group formed in 2020 and won a major grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation (through the Humanities Without Walls Consortium) to undertake a community-based research project through 2025.
